A Painting With Stones necklace

If you’ve driven by Lane Sanson (3423 W. Cary St., 358-0053), you’ve probably noticed the “All Good Things Must Come to an End” signs covering the windows. It’s true. Valerie Sanson is closing her store, a staple of Carytown. Like many, I will truly lament the loss of this go-to boutique for gifts, home décor and just plain fun items. The Lane Sanson ladies have helped me find affordable wedding gifts, pleasing hostess gifts, unique jewelry and cheerful wreaths to spice up my apartment. I keep wondering, where will I shop now?

Before the doors shut, everything must go. The store was closed this week in preparation for a big final sale that starts on Monday during which everything will be priced to fly out the doors. Stop in, bring one more piece of Lane Sanson home, and bid its friendly owner and staff adieu.

You will still be able to find some of Valerie Sanson’s creativity in the upscale jewelry line, Painting With Stones, that she’ll continue to design and sell at Victoria Charles (5707 Grove Ave., No. 200, 285-4666).
