Broad Appétit kicks off on Saturday night, June 2, at Pasture, with Off-Broad Appétit, an event that will include some of the country's best chefs. They will present dishes featuring local food producers from across Virginia. Mingle with the culinary cognoscenti and discover exactly where your dinner came from. The lineup, which Pasture's chef/co-owner Jason Alley coordinated, includes:

Chef Sean Brock, from Husk in Charleston, S.C., and formerly McCrady's; 2010 James Beard winner for Best Chef: Southeast

Chef Jen Carroll, Season 6 Top Chef and Top Chef All-Stars contestant. The former chef de duisine of 10 Arts by Eric Ripert in Philadelphia, she is opening Concrete Blonde in Philly and will appear in Bravo's Life After Top Chef

Chef Dean Maupin, of Keswick in Charlottesville and a former Broad Appétit judge

Chef Edward Lee, from 610 Magnolia in Louisville, Ky. Season 9 Top Chef. Three-time James Beard semifinalist for Best Chef: Southeast. Challenger on Food Network’s Iron Chef America

Chef Bryce Caron, pastry chef at Blackbird in Chicago. Best New Pastry Chef 2012, Food & Wine magazine

Chef Jason Alley, of Comfort and Pasture restaurants in Richmond, and Rising Star on StarChefs.com

Virginia wines and beers will be paired with each dish; menu to be announced. Tickets to this event are $150 per person, and net proceeds benefit FeedMore.

Come back for more on Sunday, June 3, when we celebrate Broad Appétit’s fifth anniversary on three blocks along West Broad Street. Many of the invited chefs will give presentations on the demonstration stage or serve as judges.
